Love: Rest

Rest

Love is neither offensive nor defensive. Love always operates out of the position of rest. Fear operates in an offensive or defensive position. When we are attacked and we take a defensive position we lose our position of rest and when we respond in a defensive manor, we don’t impart love. We end up releasing a nature that is not God and will more than likely cause the accuser to attack more or inflame the fire in them. There is no freedom in a offensive or defensive stance. Both of these positions bring a element of control. Love does not control. We can see the true nature of love when Jesus went to the cross. From the betrayal of Judas to his last breathe on the cross, Jesus was at rest. Jesus was possessed by Love. When we operate in love and minister to the broken hearted or even the enemy, love dismantles, and dissolves the walls and defensives that guard their hearts. It is always the Spirit of Christ to come into their hearts and comfort them and heal them. Life is released when we minister from a realm of rest and love. When people are touched by it they are changed forever. Look at the centurion at the cross who sees the nature of Jesus and receives the impartation of love and rest that emits from Jesus. It melts his heart and he is able to receive the revelation of who Jesus is. We too can impart the love of Jesus into those we encounter daily. There is something about the true nature of Jesus that melts even the hardest of hearts and will cause people to weep in love when they are touched by him. In this nature of Jesus, even correction will bring life and not death through condemnation. The life that is in this love will set them free and cause them to walk in his statutes with joy and peace.
